Cameroon Denies Reports of Attack on Equatorial Guinea

Feb. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Cameroon said it did not intentionally violate Equatorial Guinea’s territorial waters last week, blaming the incident on unfavorable atmospheric conditions.

A small vessel “accidentally’’ violated the territorial waters of Equatorial Guinea on Feb. 16, before returning to base in Douala, Issa Tchiroma, Cameroon’s Minister of Communication, said in a press statement in the capital, Yaounde. He denied media reports that Cameroonian forces attacked those of Equatorial Guinea.
